Hey there! Welcome to my about page. Honestly, I never know how to start one of these, so I'll just throw some stuff out there. It'll either be too much or not enough, but here goes.
My name is Michelle (ma belle). I'll be 32 this November, which both scares me and excites me. I was born and raised in southwest Ohio, lived one other place, then came back. Three months in Salinas CA was more than enough to convince me that I am not now nor will I ever be a west coast girl. My fiance John and I have been together for eight years, and have lived together for about seven of those. We've been engaged since 2005, and have yet to tie the knot (lack of funds and all), BUT! We're bound and determined to make October 2009 a reality. We'll see. We also just bought our first home in January, and that's been a lot of fun to put together. Financially draining, yes... but it's our first home and it's awesome.
We have two pets that think they run things around here. There's Jasmine, a precocious brat of a two year old that's a seal-point Siamese/Himalayan mix. She's gorgeous and will gladly tell you so. I bought her from Jack's Aquarium a month after my first Himalayan named Sabrina (Rina for short) died of renal failure. She's been both a blessing and a curse but I wouldn't give her back. Most days. Then, there's Leo. *sigh* A one year old horse of a puppy that weighs 65 pounds and is the most handsome thing you'd ever meet. He also knows this. He's a Lab/Husky mix with blue eyes, and I think he looks like he has some Great Dane in him, but who knows. We adopted him from the Animal Friends Humane Society in April. I think he's my animal soulmate. He's at my feet constantly, follows me around and loves me more than anything. He truly chose me, not the other way around. We've lost two cable remotes, numerous shoes, magazines and even an ant bait to his crazy separation anxiety-induced chewing whenever we leave the house, but we love him anyway. By the way, John and I don't have kids yet, so you'll notice I talk about my animals a lot. No really, a whole lot ;-)
I'm a department manager for a store that has a bullseye in it's logo. That should be enough to go on, considering everyone and their mother loves to shop there. It's ok most days, but just like any other job, sometimes I wanna kill people. It did bring me one good thing - it's where John and I met (awwww! I know, corny, right?).
Some other random bits of me: liberal • pro-choice • supporter of equal marriage • band and choir nerd for life • coffee addict • DMB & BNL • soccer fan • Red Sox fan • OSU fan (go Bucks!) • Chipotle • cooking • Rachael Ray • lots of other stuff.
I guess that covers the basics. Keep reading the blog, or just ask if you want to know more.
Quick Note About the Site:
I started blogging a long time ago, back when Geocities was the big thing. After looking for graphics to decorate a poetry page I had set up, I came across Full Moon Graphics, and Kitty's blog. I was hooked on the idea of putting a daily journal-type thing out there, but quickly ran out of steam (and ideas). I've blogged (if you could call it that) at charmedillusions, dreamsinblue, cynicalbliss, morelikemyself and then took a year off since I didn't really have anything to say. When KT Tunstall came out here in early 2006, I instantly identified with her song "Miniature Disasters." I had been wanting to start blogging again, so a domain name was born. And here we are. ;-)
