Been a while (again), I know. I’ve been around, I’ve just been too lazy to write about the things I’ve wanted to write about. Anyway. So a few things… First off, why are people in such a damn hurry these days? I’ve noticed lately that people are always on my ass on the road. I tend to drive 5-10 mph over the speed limit, but I’ve always got some hemorrhoid up my ass, flailing their arms and no doubt calling me some not-so-nice things. Slow. Down. It’s not worth killing somebody.
Second, why do friendships have to be so hard sometimes? I have an entry brewing that’s devoted to this topic alone, but I just can’t seem to get it out. Being a grown-up sucks sometimes. So does being a female, and having a guy best friend who’s fiancĂ©e hates you. Very common, yes… but with the crap that always seems to find me regarding friends, I so don’t need this right now. I just want my best friend back. Yeah… more on that later.
And last but definitely not least… Ike. Never in my life did I think we’d experience a hurricane in Ohio. Last Sunday I was proven wrong. It was nowhere near what you all down south experienced… we didn’t have the rain, the flooding, the high sustained winds. In my area (southwest Ohio, just north of Cincinnati), we had reported gusts of 78mph. I read that our sustained winds were around 45mph. As of this morning, Duke Energy is reporting 624 customers still without power, down from 1,262,987 right after the storm. We finally got ours back on Thursday (9/18) after living the Amish life for five days, but it wasn’t too bad. The lines to get gas, gas stations running out of gas, no ice to be found anywhere and everyone eating fast food for a week… could’ve been much worse. I did manage to take a few shots around town. For some reason, Flickr hates me today so I put them on photobucket. That’s all for now. More later, when I have time to write. I get to close again tonight. Yay.
